For hours, a severely ill patient lay unattended on a stretcher, his body decomposing as he waited to be treated at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh, eventually leading to his death. This heartbreaking scenario, now under investigation, has exposed the glaring lack of adequate healthcare provisions in government-run hospitals in the state.

Officials say the patient, admitted to the community health center in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, was referred to a hospital in Kanpur, some 120 kilometers away, on Monday afternoon. But his condition worsened during the journey, and he died shortly after arriving at the Kanpur hospital.

Mr. Ashish stated, "It's very sad and disappointing that such an incident has taken place in one of our hospitals. Action will be taken against the accused."
