Apple leases massive 2.7 lakh sq ft office in Bengaluru for Rs 1,010 cr

In yet another win for Bengaluru's bustling tech industry, Apple Inc. has leased 2.7 lakh sq ft of office space in the city for 10 years, reportedly paying a monthly rent of Rs 6.31 crore starting April 2025. This is in addition to the company's existing office spaces in the city that employ thousands of workers.

The new office space is in the Whitefield-Sarjapur road corridor, a tech hotspot that is also home to major offices for Dell, Tesco, and IBM. The lease agreement was signed earlier this week and the space will be used for its global business and technical support functions.

This move shows Apple's continued commitment to growing in India, despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic and global semiconductor shortage. It also comes on the heels of their announcement of a new retail store in Mumbai, planned for early 2024, indicating that the company is investing heavily in the Indian market, and we can expect to see more exciting news from them soon.

Undoubtedly, this lease agreement is a huge win for Bengaluru's tech economy and signals Apple's long-term plans for growth and innovation in India.
