In a raid on a rave party in Hyderabad's Kondapur neighbourhood, Telangana's Anti-Narcotics Wing confiscated drugs and guns. Early Sunday morning, the Anti-Narcotics Wing raided a house in Kondapur, where a rave party was taking place. The attendees were mostly in their 20s and 30s.
The authorities recovered a significant amount of drugs, including LSD blots, MDMA, cocaine, and ecstasy pills, as well as guns and ammunition. According to authorities, the raid was the culmination of a month-long investigation into the party, which was advertised on social media platforms as a drug-fueled event.
"This is a clear indication that drug abuse among the younger generation in Hyderabad is increasing. We will continue to conduct such raids to ensure the city is safe from the encroaching menace of narcotics and to create awareness that such behaviours will not be tolerated," stated officer Ramana Kumar from the Anti-Narcotics Wing.
The attendees were detained for questioning, and formal charges are pending. The event's organizers and promoters are also under investigation.
This raid raises concerns about the accessibility and prevalence of illicit substances in Hyderabad, and Texas officials' efforts to address this burgeoning drug crisis among the young.
Ending on a poignant note, reflecting on the broader social implications, Officer Kumar reiterated the need for such raids to prevent drug abuse and safeguard the city's youth from the perils of narcotics.
