Banner Elk Kiwanis Club partners with May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

Children in Banner Elk, North Carolina, get ready to learn about wildlife from local experts! Each Friday in July, the Banner Elk Kiwanis Club partners with the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for exciting presentations aimed at kids. These interactive sessions, which run from 1 to 2 p.m., offer kids the chance to learn about the vital work done by the rehabilitation center, as well as some of the center's incredible resident animals. These presentations are gearing up to be an enriching and adventurous weekly activity for the kids of Banner Elk, where learning about wildlife and the environment is fundamental.

Following the presentations, the kids will enjoy a themed story time and coloring activities related to the wildlife they just learned about. The partnership between the Banner Elk Kiwanis Club and the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a brilliant opportunity to inspire young generations to become responsible stewards of the environment, and to encourage empathy and curiosity for the fascinating wildlife in their own backyard. By fostering these values early on, the community can strengthen its commitment to protecting and preserving the region's diverse wildlife and habitats, thereby enriching both the ecosystem and society.
