Hyderabad Police Intensify Anti-Drug Drive with Gachibowli Pub Raids

In a clear signal of escalating efforts against narcotics, Hyderabad police conducted late-night raids on two prominent pubs in Gachibowli on Friday, resulting in the arrest of four individuals for drug use. The joint operation, involving the Gachibowli police and the Special Operations Team (SOT), targeted Frat House and Club Rogue at SLN Terminus.

Officials confirmed that the arrests were made outside the pub premises following random drug tests. Out of 15 individuals screened, three tested positive for ganja outside Club Rogue, while one tested positive near Frat House. Cases have been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the source of the drugs and any potential nexus with pub management.

This operation comes amidst a broader crackdown on drug abuse in Hyderabad's nightlife, particularly in high-traffic areas like Gachibowli, Madhapur, and Jubilee Hills. Cyberabad police have significantly increased surveillance at pubs, lounges, and other party venues. Just weeks prior, the Cyberabad SOT raided pubs in Madhapur, where two individuals tested positive for drugs. There have also been reports of random drug tests being conducted on DJs at Hyderabad pubs, with authorities urging organisers to ensure that performers have clean records regarding drug abuse.

The police have emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related activities and urged the public to cooperate by reporting any suspicious incidents. This recent action in Gachibowli underscores the authorities' unwavering commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment in the city, with more such targeted raids expected in the coming days.
