The 144th edition of the Durand Cup, hosted in Kolkata, West Bengal, has reached the quarterfinals stage. Among the teams to reach the next stage of the competition include two Indian Super League (ISL) sides, Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC.
Jamshedpur FC scored two goals past Ladakh FC in their final Group B match to secure their spot in the quarterfinals. The first goal was scored by the club's captain, Peter Haokip, in the 58th minute to give his side the lead. The second and final goal of the match was scored by Nigerian-born Israeli forward Israel Abia only a minute later.
The two goals were enough for Jamshedpur FC to defeat Ladakh FC, who were making their debut in the Durand Cup, by two goals to nil. Jamshedpur FC joins Northeastern United FC as the two ISL sides through to the last eight of the competition.

Mumbai City progressed to the quarterfinals after defeating Kerala Blasters FC in their final group match. On the other side of the bracket, NorthEast United FC, who finished as group winners after defeating Delhi FC, will face off against the winners of Group A, Bengaluru FC.
The winner of the Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City fixture will advance to the semifinals, set to commence on August 26, 2022.
