Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune, and Bengaluru to Belagavi were the three new routes launched as part of the Vande Bharat Mission yesterday. With this, the mission has reached a new height of 75 destinations.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced this mission in June this year to establish air travel connections between various Indian cities and popular international destinations. This mission aims to facilitate the movement of Indian nationals stranded abroad and to establish a structured air transport service to various countries.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new routes, Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, stated that ever since the mission was launched, more than two million Indian citizens have been able to fly back to their homes. He also promised that more routes would be added in the future to help more Indians return home.
Overall, the Vande Bharat Mission has been a success in helping Indian citizens abroad return to their homes, and it will continue to expand to help even more people.
