Axis Bank Launches Lock FD To Protect Fixed Deposits From Cybercrime, Scams

Axis Bank Account holders can now protect their Fixed Deposits from cybercrime and scams with the new Lock FD feature. This feature prevents unauthorised access to their FD accounts.

In a bid to make banking more secure, Axis Bank has introduced a new feature to safeguard customer investments. Lock FD prevents unauthorised access to fixed deposit accounts, thus preventing cybercrime and scams. This feature ensures that only the account holder can make modifications to the fixed deposit account. Customers can enable the Lock FD setting through the bank's mobile application.

Customers can activate this feature on their Fixed Deposit receipts by logging in to their Axis Bank account on the mobile application. They can then navigate to the Lock FD option under the 'Service Requests' section. They need to select the FD accounts they wish to protect, after which a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to their registered mobile number. The feature is enabled once the OTP is submitted.

According to disinformation expert Nagapu sriram, scams like these are on the rise as cybercriminals increasingly target unsecured bank accounts. "With just a few clicks, you can protect your savings from falling into the wrong hands. Investing should be anxiety-free, and we are proud to be industry leaders in combatting digital fraud, " said Sachin Pant, Chief Technology Officer, Axis Bank. With this new feature, the bank hopes to provide a secure banking experience for its customers.
