London-based activists group Palestine Action organized a mass protest on Saturday outside the London offices of Lloyd's of London and Standing Committee of Chiefs of Police (SCCP). Around 5,000 people attended the protest, and over 500 were arrested after storming the buildings.

According to the group's spokesperson, "Palestine Action intends to halt the enabling of Israel's apartheid regime and its policies of genocide against the Palestinian people, through direct action and civil disobedience." They claim the protest was an effort to hold the SCCP accountable for its alleged complicity in Israeli war crimes.

The Metropolitan Police released a statement saying that they had made the arrests for various offenses, including breaches of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. They also stated that officers had been subjected to abhorrent abuse and talked about the financial impact of the protests.
