Amid constant criticism of his divisive rhetoric and behavior, and only days after the midterm elections, President Trump is finding himself yet again on the receiving end of a hard-hitting political move, as NYC Mayoral Nominee Zohran Mamdani reads from a seven-page letter addressed to the President, during the first of a five-borough citywide tour.
"We know that the President is watching, and we know that he would prefer to ignore us, and the voices of the people in this city, because he thinks we're all the same," said Mamdani, referencing the President's notorious tweet labeling certain Democratic leaders as "anti-Jewish" and stating that they should "retire away from politics altogether."
Mamdani, who is Palestinian and Muslim, was joined by a crowd of roughly 200 people, in Brooklyn, chanting "Love trumps hate," and "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go," as they marched to the next location, ultimately ending at an outdoor gathering in Williamsburg, where the group, led by Mamdani, held a collective "mic check" to share their messages of resistance to the President.
Tomorrow, the tour continues on to Staten Island, and then the Bronx on Thursday, and Queens on Friday, with a final rally outside the iconic Trump Tower. It remains to be seen whether the President will respond to this tactic, but one thing is certain, Mamdani and his supporters are not giving up, without a fight.
