The famous Srikalahasti Devasthanam, known as 'Dakshina Kasi', continues to gain popularity, attracting thousands of devotees daily. During weekends, the footfall reaches up to 30,000, contributing significantly to the temple's revenue. Renowned for its Rahu Ketu pujas, the temple's earnings from these rituals have been consistently increasing. On Sunday, approximately 30,000 devotees worshipped Lord Srikalahasteeswara and Goddess Gnana Prasunambika. Among them, around 5,500 individuals purchased special darshan tickets worth Rs 200 and Rs 50, generating about Rs 7 lakhs in revenue. Additionally, 90 devotees performed Abhishekam, 26 attended Mahanayasa Rudra Abhishekam, and 110 devotees participated in Gopooja. Other puja tickets further contributed to the temple's income.
The renowned Rahu Ketu pujas were performed by 5,227 devotees, most of whom chose to attend during the Rahukalam time between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, considered especially auspicious for the ritual. This single puja alone earned the temple more than Rs 42 lakhs. Among the devotees, 68 purchased Rs 5,000 Rahu Ketu puja tickets, 278 bought Rs 2,500 tickets, and 414 opted for Rs 1,500 tickets. Additionally, 3,216 devotees purchased Rs 500 tickets, while 1,251 chose Rs 750 tickets. The devasthanam also generated revenue from the sale of prasadams, with 14,091 small laddus, 399 big laddus, 688 Jilebis, 6,402 Pulihora packets, and 2,546 Vadas sold on Sunday. Throughout the day, the temple experienced a steady influx of devotees, and the queue lines were packed. The temple management made extra efforts to manage the crowd and provide darshan as quickly as possible.</p><p>On Saturday, more than 25,000 devotees visited the temple, with 4,889 performing Rahu Ketu pujas. Even on weekdays, around 2,000 devotees perform Rahu Ketu pujas, contributing to an overall daily attendance of over 15,000. The devasthanam also collected Rs 1.22 crores from the hundi over 28 days, following its reopening on June 29.
