Alvaro Morata Says Goodbye to Milan, Heads to Como on Loan

Como has recently secured a loan deal bringing them former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata from AC Milan. The Spaniard became available after seeing limited game time with the San Siro side. Morata, 32, arrived at Milan in the summer of 2021 from Juventus on a free transfer. He scored three goals in 19 appearances across all competitions in his first season.

This prompted Milan to send the striker on loan to Galatasaray in January, where the Spaniard scored five goals in 11 appearances. The Turkish side had the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan, however, they decided against the option.

Despite leaving the club, Morata thanked Milan for "everything they have done for me." He also expressed his excitement for the next chapter and the opportunity to help Como achieve their objectives.

During his introductory press conference, Morata stated: "I'm happy to be here. I want to help the team in a difficult moment. I will give my best to help the team as much as possible."

The striker, who has also played for Real Madrid, has scored 19 goals in 52 appearances for Spain and was a member of the nation's Euro 2016 and 2020 squads. He will wear the number 91 shirt for his new club.
