Telangana rain: Irrigation Minister instructs officials to report any damage immediately

Heavy rains in Telangana have prompted officials to issue flood alerts and undertake preventive measures to manage the situation. Officials have been directed to be on high alert for the next three to four days, as the Met Department forecasts heavy rains in several districts.

The State Irrigation Department has alerted all the district collectors and officials of the Disaster Management Department. They have been instructed to coordinate and report any damage to dams, reservoirs, or irrigation projects immediately.

People have also been asked to be cautious and not to undertake any kind of tourism activities in the dams, reservoirs, and river beds. Hearing the forecast of heavy rains, the Revenue, Disaster, and Irrigation departments have started preparing for any rescue and relief measures that may be required.

The Minister of Irrigation has stated that they are prepared for the heavy rain and that precautions have been taken across the state. She further added that they will not hesitate to seek help from the Centre if the situation worsens.
