Congress leaders made it known on Saturday that they will not be silenced, despite the BJP's T.S. Singhdeo posting a video of a man, alleged to be a Congress worker, engaging in a conversation with the groom at a wedding about "selling votes." In response, the Congress has created and shared a video highlighting the issue of vote buying, with former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party leader Ajay Maken posting the video on social media.

Speaking to the media, Congress leader and former minister Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the people responsible for buying and selling votes should be punished. He called for an investigation into the allegations.

"The Congress party has consistently fought against corruption and the misuse of money in elections. We will continue to do so," said Kharge.

The Congress party, through its vice-president, has requested an investigation into the alleged violation of the model code of conduct (MCC) by the BJP in the state of Chhattisgarh, where the video was allegedly shot. This comes ahead of the upcoming elections in the state, which are expected to be a closely contested affair between the Congress and BJP.

The Election Commission (EC) has recently imposed a ban on physical rallies in five states, including Chhattisgarh, in light of the ongoing second wave of COVID-19.
