Muller 'Wants To Stay On Hype Train' Amid Continued Silverware Search

German superstar Thomas Muller revealed that he has silverware on his mind following his move to MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps from boyhood club Bayern Munich.

"I wouldn't say it's about proving anything to anyone at this point," Muller said. "It's not about the past but it's about the appetite for success and the hunger for victory. I want to stay on the hype train."

Muller, 33, won 31 major honors with Bayern Munich including 10 Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League.

He was part of the Germany side that won the 2014 World Cup but has not won a major international trophy since.

"Maybe it's superficially not the biggest career move, but it was an offer I couldn't turn down," Muller said. "I don't want to mess with any cliches, but sometimes in life you got to listen to what your heart says."

"This is not a retirement plan or anything like that," he added. "I feel really good and I want to keep playing at a high intensity and a high level for the next few years."

These revelations have given Vancouver Whitecaps and MLS a welcomed boost in profile ahead of the upcoming season.
