Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several significant highway projects worth 11,000 crore in the national capital, Delhi, on August 17. This comes as a part of the government's effort to enhance infrastructure and transportation in the city.
The projects, worth 11,000 crore, include the construction of a new ring road around Delhi and the expansion and widening of the NH-44, NH-24, and NH-9 highways. These are expected to help alleviate congestion in India's capital city and improve connectivity.
According to officials, the new ring road will be a 96-kilometer six-lane highway around Delhi, and it will provide smoother connectivity between the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the city.
PM Modi's inauguration of these projects comes after his July 25 inauguration of the country's longest highway tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir, which is a part of the 330-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
This initiative is expected to boost the economy, provide employment, and foster greater ease of doing business in the region.
It is a continuation of the government's focus on building a strong infrastructure base for the country and contributing to the overall economic growth and development of the region.
