BMCs pot of sin smashed, city to taste butter of progress, says Fadnavis

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claims the end of the 15-year rule of the BMC's Shiv Sena indicates a new stage of development for the city.

Fadnavis credited the BJP-led Mahayuti (alliance) for putting an end to the "years of loot" of the civic body, saying that the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority would be the "new pot of butter" for the city.

Speaking of the upcoming development plans for Mumbai, he stated that the city would soon see the completion of the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro Network, with the first phase expected to be operational by 2020.

Fadnavis also pledged to address the city's longstanding issue of housing for all, claiming that his government would provide homes to all by 2022.

He went on to highlight other initiatives of the government, including a planned reduction in bureaucracy to make it easier for entrepreneurs to start businesses in Mumbai.

On the issue of ongoing projects, he confirmed that the city's coastal road project would be completed by 2023.

He concluded by saying that he was confident that Mumbai would progress rapidly in the coming years.

"We are confident that Mumbai's development momentum will accelerate in the coming years," he said. "The BMC's 'pot of sin' has been smashed, and now the city is ready to taste the butter of progress."
