T. Bapi Reddy, who has been appointed by the State government as the new Executive Officer of Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Devasthanam, officially assumed charge at the temple on Sunday (November 3, 2024).

The Shaivite temple, widely known as 'Dakshina Kashi' (Varanasi of the South), attracts tens of thousands of devotees from across the country. Located 40 km from Tirupati, pilgrims heading to Lord Venkateswara's temple also make it a point to visit Srikalahasti.

Upon his arrival at the temple with his family members, temple priests and Deputy Executive Officer N.R. Krishna Reddy welcomed him ceremoniously. He offered prayers at the shrines of Sri Kalahastheeswara Swamy and Goddess Sri Gnana Prasunambika. Vedic scholars bestowed their blessings on him at the Medha Guru Dakshinamurthy Sannidhi within the temple complex, where officials presented him with ‘Theertha Prasadam’ and a portrait of the presiding deity.
