Hyderabad's Traffic Management Just Got Smarter

Keeping pace with emerging smart city needs, the Southern Indian city of Hyderabad just got smarter with the launch of the Cyberabad Traffic Pulse. The new real-time initiative aims to make commuters better informed and thereby reduce traffic congestion.

The project is a collaboration between the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and Tanla Platforms Limited. The official launch, held on Friday at the Cyberabad Police Commissioner's Office, was attended by the Commissioner himself, Avinash Mohanty, along with Joint Commissioner Joel Davis.

Speaking at the event, Mohanty emphasized the project's importance in reducing traffic and saving commuters time, expressing confidence in the initiative's ability to enhance traffic management significantly.

Noting the project's innovative nature, JCP Davis highlighted its utility in providing citizens with real-time information on traffic congestion, diversions, and accidents, as well as precise details about the causes of congestion and anticipated clearance times.

Cyberabad Traffic Pulse enables this via SMS, WhatsApp, Google RCS, and even flash messages for major accidents. One of its standout features is enabling direct communication between citizens and the Cyberabad Traffic Police via WhatsApp, for the sharing of suggestions and feedback.

Users can subscribe to Cyberabad Traffic Pulse at cyberabadtrafficpulse.telangana.gov.in, entering their name, mobile number, and mode of transport. They can then select their frequently travelled routes.

This new initiative demonstrates Hyderabad's ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for improving its residents' lives and developing a more modern, efficient, and sustainable urban environment.
