In a move to advance the long-awaited Srikalahasti-Nadikudi railway line project, Nellore District Collector O. Anand visited the site designated for the new railway line on Friday. During his visit, he engaged with farmers and landowners whose properties are required for the project. The Collector toured Ankupalli village in Podalakur mandal, Perumallapadu in Chejarla mandal, and Apparaopalem in Atmakur mandal, where farmers expressed their concerns over the low compensation offered for lands that previously produced two crops a year. They also criticized the undervaluation of mango and lemon trees, which had been yielding fruit for several years. Mr. Anand explained that the purpose of his visit was to understand the farmers' concerns firsthand and assured them he would bring their grievances to the government's attention. He also informed the farmers that payments for land with title issues would be processed according to the authorities' rules and regulations. Revenue Divisional Officers Anusha (Nellore) and Pavani (Atmakur) were present during the visit.
