Former BJP spokesperson Aarti Sathe sworn in as Justice of Bombay High Court

A former spokesperson of BJP, Aarti Sathe, was sworn in as a Justice of the Bombay High Court today. She was appointed a Judge of the Bombay High Court in March this year.

Along with her, two other advocates - NR Chamble and Shailendra Shukla - were also sworn in as Judges of the Court. Chamble's appointment was lauded for being the first judge from the Gond community.

The former BJP spokesperson started her legal career by registering as an advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in 2001. In 2008, she was appointed as Government Counsel. She served as the spokesperson for the BJP for a year till January 2024. Even though she had stepped down from the post, she continued to be associated with the party. This appointment marks her departure from the BJP.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Nicco Hall in the High Court and was administered by Chief Justice Dipankar Datta.

Along with Sathe,NR Chamble and Shailendra Shukla were also sworn in as judges of the Bombay High Court.
