Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the construction of integrated registration offices in Hyderabad.
The offices will provide all services related to registration of vital statistics like birth, death, and marriages, as well as commercial transactions of properties in one place.
Currently, these services are provided through 39 sub-registrar offices (SROs) and 7 complex sub-registrar offices (CSROs) in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. Together, they contribute about 63% of the State's revenue.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that the integrated registration offices would go a long way in providing seamless and hassle-free services to the public. He emphasized the need to develop the city of Hyderabad as an "international city" and warned that anyone attempting to obstruct these efforts would be viewed as an "enemy" of the state.
He added that the government was working towards ensuring easy access to all citizen services through the integrated portal, Telangana State One Stop Portal Agency (TSOSA).
Once functional, the integrated registration offices are expected to significantly streamline the process of property transactions and other vital registrations in the state.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by urging all the stakeholders involved in the process to ensure that the quality of the work was paramount and to prioritize timelines effectively.
