Music composer Anirudh Ravichander's first-ever world tour concert faces legal trouble. Here's what you need to know.
The much-awaited Hukum Hip Hop tamizhan concert, the first-ever world tour of music composer Anirudh Ravichander, is facing legal trouble. Thangathurai N.MPIEA (T.N. MLA), who is also the President of the South Indian Film Producers Council, has moved the Madras High Court, claiming that the lyrics of some of the songs to be performed at the concert are derogatory and offensive to women.
Justice N. Anand Venkatesh heard the petition and agreed to proceed with the case on the same day (August 22) since the concert is scheduled for August 23. The judge granted a lunch motion, and the case is pending.
Despite the legal holdup, Anirudh Ravichander posted a tweet on Twitter, saying that the concert will be happening as planned.
"Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed at the Madras High Court to stop my first-ever world tour Hukum World Tour goes ahead as planned ," the tweet read.
