Employment in Indiarose by 36%, reaching 643.3 million in 2023-24, up from 471.5 million in2014-15, indicating an improvement in the job market during the NDA government,according to Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, citing official data.
Mandaviyahighlighted that employment grew by only 7% under the UPA government (2003-04to 2014-15), with just 29 million new jobs created. In contrast, the Modigovernment has added 171.9 million jobs, with 46 million new positions createdin 2023-24 alone.
Mandaviya alsoemphasized that the significant increase in employment under the currentgovernment reflects the impact of various economic reforms and policies aimedat boosting job creation. He pointed out that sectors such as manufacturing,infrastructure, and services have played a crucial role in generating thesejobs, alongside the government's focus on skill development andentrepreneurship. The minister further mentioned that the rise in employment isnot only a sign of economic growth but also a testament to the government'scommitment to improving the livelihood of millions of Indians.
