Among the key initiatives is the Brihanmumbai Stormwater Disposal System (BRIMSTOWAD), a comprehensive project designed to upgrade the city’s drainage infrastructure. This system aims to improve the flow of stormwater, reduce the chances of waterlogging, and alleviate flooding during monsoon seasons.

In addition to BRIMSTOWAD, the city authorities conduct regular desilting of drains to prevent blockages and ensure the free flow of rainwater. Another major initiative is the promotion of rainwater harvesting.
