TDP, ruling in Tirupati exposes mortgage releases scam at Nellore civic body, alleging that leaders from the former YSRCP government collaborated with bureaucrats to siphon funds estimated at Rs. 62 crore. TDP spokesperson Anam Venkataramana Reddy highlighted that approximately 73 suspicious mortgage releases took place at the Nellore municipal corporation between October 2022 to May 2024, misappropriating funds to the aforementioned amount.

Alleging former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Anam blamed the duo for orchestrating the scam, instructing bureaucrats on methods to embezzle money through improper means.

Anam highlighted the tenures of former Nellore municipal commissioners D Haritha and Vikas Marmat further needing investigation. Anam accused the duo of allowing outsiders to sign on mortgage releases, furthering the suspicion of an unholy nexus between officials and said outsiders.

Foreseeing acts of sabotage occurring in govt offices across the state, Anam urged the Nellore collector to initiate measures to safeguard files at the civic body before suspicious fire mishaps occur.

Ultimately, Anam urged the state government to investigate the scam and bring all culprits to book.
