In an effort to prioritize cleaning methods and efficiency, Minister Ponguru Narayana recently announced that Nellore City will now only be cleaned using sweeping machines. To aid in this initiative, the Minister has introduced 28 sweeping machine vehicles to the city through the Swachh Andhra Corporation. These vehicles are worth 10 crores and serve as an upgrade to the previous manual sweeping process. Narayana expressed that the focus on machine sweeping will improve the cleanliness of the roads, promising that Nellore roads will be dust-free in 49 days as a result of these new cleaning machines.
This initiative is not exclusive to Nellore City, as the Minister also announced that sweeping machine vehicles are to be made available in all municipalities across the state. In addition to this, government schools in 125 municipalities will also be receiving renovation works.
Furthermore, the Minister addressed ongoing works related to Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA), promising completion of pending works on Tidco houses and handing them over to beneficiaries by Diwali this year. He noted that previous loans raised on the beneficiaries' names have now become Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) due to non-repayment of the loans. Actioning on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's directive to pay 140 crores to the bankers, Ponguru Narayana revealed that bankers have now shown eagerness to provide loans to beneficiaries for the construction of these houses.
In conclusion, Minister Ponguru Narayana is making strides in prioritizing cleaning methods and urban development not only in Nellore City but across municipalities in Andhra Pradesh through various initiatives.
