Despite previous efforts to develop the area, Nellore has remained stagnant and was even neglected for political reasons, alleged Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana. Despite funding two key projects, namely drinking water from the Sangam Barrage and Under Ground Drainage (UGD), past governments have stalled progress. With a cost of Rs 550 crore each, the projects are finally set to be completed in the near future.

As part of the beautification effort, 50 parks are to be established in Nellore city, with 30 already completed. Additionally, Nellore is striving to become a dust-free city, with 28 sweeping machines already in place.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu has promised to release the funds required to complete these projects soon. Furthermore, following the directives of Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh, all 54 municipal schools will be transformed.

These initiatives aim to provide mineral water to 30,000 families, corporate education to poor students, and a more aesthetically pleasing environment.
