Rottela Panduga Celebrations

The Nellore Municipal Corporation is preparing for Rottela Panduga, a unique state festival where devotees of all religions exchange rotis in the Swarnala Cheruvu waters as a wish-fulfillment marker. The festival will occur at the Bara Shahid Dargah, for which Mayor Abdul Aziz and Senior Corporator Nune Mallikarjuna Yadav are ensuring basic facilities like drinking water and sanitation.

The government plans to invest Rs. 50 lakh in developing these facilities to accommodate visiting devotees. This festival's uniqueness is that devotees of all religions participate in the Rottela Panduga festival, held at the Shahid Dargah in Swarnala Cheruvu. There, they exchange rotis in knee-deep waters as a symbolic means of having their wishes fulfilled.

The venue will be cleaned and sanitized, and the premises spruced up to ensure convenience for devotees visiting the festival. Abdul Aziz said that the dargah would be ready to accommodate devotees with all amenities. The festival will be unique, with a diverse group of people participating in the roti exchange in the water as a symbol of wish fulfillment.

The government is spending a significant amount on the festival, which received state festival status last year, to ensure that the basic needs of the devotees are met. This festival reflects the tradition of mutual understanding and harmony among people of various religions. The festival is anticipated to be a success and to be celebrated with great fervour.
