Kisan SEZ needs more industries

The inclusion of more industries in the Kisan SEZ (special economic zone) in Andhra Pradesh is being advocated by its local MP, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. He met with the chairman of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative, Dr U S Awasthi, to discuss the matter and seek IFFCO's support.

Kisan SEZ is located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India. In addition to advocating for the inclusion of more industries, Rajamohan Reddy also requested IFFCO's assistance in setting up a fertilizer plant in the zone.

In response, Awasthi expressed IFFCO's willingness to help develop the region by investing in industries related to fertilizer, agriculture, and allied sectors. He emphasized the goal of creating a multiplier effect on agricultural production and productivity in line with the intentions of the Kisan SEZ.

The two also discussed the ongoing projects of IFFCO in the state of Andhra Pradesh, including the new fertilizer plant in Kadapa district and the expansion of the existing fertilizer plant in Nellore district. The MP expressed his support for these projects, stating that they would create new jobs and boost the local economy.

The meeting between the MP and the IFFCO chairman is a step forward in developing the Kisan SEZ into a hub for agriculture-related industries. With the inclusion of more industries, the zone will contribute to the growth of the region and provide new opportunities for the local population.
