Nellore Town to Unveil Major Makeover: Commissioner

Nellore Municipal Corporation Commissioner, YO Nandan, has unveiled plans to transform Nellore town's urban landscape. Among the plans are extensive tree planting drives, installation of fountains, increasing the green cover, and beautifying the city with artistic painting works.

During a detailed inspection on Tuesday, the Commissioner stated that these initiatives would be undertaken extensively as part of various development programmes. He checked key areas such as the Atmakur bus stand and Muthukur Road flyover and directed officials to plant greenery and complete decorative painting works.

Sanitation and town planning reviews highlighted the need to identify and remove road encroachments and remove any permanent structures on drains or road margins that obstruct desilting works. The Commissioner also checked the Smart Street Vendor Project at Mypadu Gate Centre, advising officials to complete the project within the given time frame.

Nandan advised the owner of KVR Petrol Bunk's chicken shop to maintain hygiene standards and collect pending taxes. Former Nellore Mayor NBhanu Sri, engineering department EE Rahantu Jani, city planner Himabindu, and horticulture assistant director Narasimharao attended the inspections.

The Commissioner's initiatives aim to improve the urban environment and enhance the aesthetic appeal of Nellore City. With extensive landscaping and beautification projects, the city will offer a more pleasant and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike.
