Young girl murdered in Hyderabad, triggers alarm for child safety

A 10-year-old girl was recently found dead in Hyderabad. The young girl, a student in Class 6, was discovered by her father when he returned home around 12:30 p.m. to pick up his sons lunchbox. Shockingly, the girl was found motionless on her bed with suspicious stab wounds. Whilst the mother, a lab technician, and younger son were away at work and school, respectively, the victim was home alone at the time of the incident, prompting investigators to seek clues about potential intruders.

The crime scene has triggered grave concerns about child safety, especially in urban areas where, more often than not, children are left alone at home. Police have registered a case of murder and are doing a forensic investigation of the scene. The motive for the crime, as well as the weapon used, are unknown at this time.

The victim's body was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination to better understand the cause and time of death. The police are urging anyone with information that could help solve the case to come forward.
