Cyberabad Police Commissionerate: The Drop in Crime Rate amid Heightened Police Action

In a significant development, the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate witnessed a 12% reduction in crime rates in 2022, as per Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra. During the annual crime statistics press conference, the official revealed that fewer FIRs were registered this year compared to 2021, with 27,322 cases filed as against 30,954 complaints received the previous year. This drop in crime complemented the increased efficiency of the police force, with the UI (Under Investigation) cases also seeing a 15.4% reduction.

The commissionerate specifically noted a 11.3% increase in crimes against women in the Madhapur zone, despite an overall decreasing trend in the two other zones of Balanagar and Samshabad, with reductions of 17.3% and 18.3% respectively. These stats highlight the proactive approach by the Cyberabad police in curbing criminal activities and ensuring a safer environment for the citizens.

The commissioner attributed the overall drop to the force's emphasis on preventive policing, tactical measures, and better surveillance. He promised continued efforts to ensure peace and security in the region. With the police force taking a proactive stance in combatting crime, the declining trend in the Cyberabad Commissionerate is a positive development for the community.
