Over the weekend, the Cyberabad Traffic Police conducted a special drunk driving check, resulting in the arrest of 272 individuals. With weekend outings and late-night drives on the rise, the police implemented a focused campaign to curb drunk driving.

The drive was conducted across various locations in Cyberabad, with police squads on the lookout for any violations.

The data shows that amongst the 272 arrests, 253 offenders were found with BAC levels ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml. Shockingly, as many as 3 drivers had BAC levels ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 500 mg/100 ml.

Cyberabad Police has assuredly reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol is a very serious offence, urging citizens to avoid it at all costs. The police will be booking any negligent drivers under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and/or a fine.

The Cyberabad Traffic Police appeals to all citizens to practice safe and responsible driving at all times, for everyone's safety on the road.
