A routine family trip to Kashmir turned into a nightmare for the kin of a Bengaluru-based techie, who was found dead in Srinagar with no less than 42 bullet wounds on his body.

The deceased, identified as Abdul Khaliq Gattar, had embarked on what was to be a dream holiday with his wife and two children to Kashmir, but he fell prey to the escalating cross-border tensions in the region.

On Sunday, February 19, the family was returning after sightseeing when unidentified gunmen intercepted their car near the city of Srinagar.

Tragically, Abdul Khaliq Gattar died en route to a hospital in Srinagar.
