Hyderabad drug raid stops 'raves' and arrests 6

Six people in Hyderabad, India, were arrested on drug charges after a raid on a rave party on August 26. The operation was carried out jointly by the Cyberabad police and Telanganas elite anti-narcotics unit, Eagle. Officers seized cocaine, ecstasy pills, and MDMA, and arrested two peddlers, a transporter, and three consumers. The mastermind behind the rave parties, Teja, owned a cloud kitchen business and had sourced the cocaine from a Bengaluru-based supplier using courier delivery.

The drugs were circulated at parties in Hyderabad, farmhouses, and even in Goa, where Teja also organized a New Year's party. The raid was part of an intensified drive to curb the rising number of rave parties and drug trafficking in the area. Police are currently looking for Rahul, the supplier who sent the packages.

Madhapur DCP G. Vineeth confirmed the arrests and commented that the group procured drugs from Rajahmundry and Goa and organized rave parties in Hyderabad. The group's leader, Teja, has admitted to using three types of narcotics. The growing presence of such parties and drug abuse has alarmed authorities in many parts of India.
