- Nellore's Civic Chief Inspects Smart Bajaar Project Works

Nellore Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan has directed contractors and officials to ensure completion of Smart Bajaar Project (SBP) works on a war footing. The civic chief wants to accelerate the works as the municipal administration minister, P Narayana, is reportedly keen on launching the project as early as possible.

The administration has already allotted shops to beneficiaries in a lottery system, making the project even more urgent. Therefore, Nandan inspected the SBP works at Jaffer Saheb Kaluvakatta area in the city alongside Nellore Municipal Corporation SE Ramamohan Rao, and City Planning officer Himabindu, amongst others, on Monday.

The commissioner said that the minister is eager to launch the project to provide employment to street vendors and help streamline the local economy. He urged the officials and contractors to work collaboratively and put in their best efforts to complete the project at the earliest. He added that the minister was constantly reviewing the progress, and the contractors and officials would be held accountable for any delays or compromises in the quality of work.

Smart Cities and their evolving infrastructure play a significant role in the country's socio-economic development. With the Smart Bajaar Project, Nellore is sure to join the ranks of smarter cities driven by innovation, efficient resource utilization, and a vibrant local economy.
