A three-member committee was sent to Nellore by the TDP high command to collect opinions from party cadres at the constituency level regarding the nomination for the post of the party's district president. The competition for this post has intensified as many second-run leaders are now in the race.

Several leaders, including State Wakf Board Chairman and current party district president Shiek Abdul Aziz, TDP Nellore rural incharge Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, brother of Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, party State vice-president Chejerla Venkateswara Reddy, senior leaders Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy, Vemireddy Pattabhirami Reddy, and former ZP Chairman Chenchalababu Yadav, are said to be in the running.

The post has previously been held by leaders from backward classes, including Beeda Ravichandra Yadav and Shiek Abdul Aziz, for the past two terms. However, there is reportedly a demand from the Reddy community since Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, and MLAs representing that community are very much interested. They have formed a powerful lobby to draw the attention of party supreme and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Minister of Municipal Administration& Urban Development Ponguru Narayana, Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Kavali MLA Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy, MLC Beeda Ravichandra Yadav, and other MLAs attended the meeting; they will submit a detailed report to the party high command for a final decision.
