Telanganas Elite Anti-Narcotics Unit Crushes Elite Drug Ring

Drugs are often glamorized in pop culture, but the after-effects are deeply devastating. In a major crackdown on drug abuse, Telanganas elite anti-narcotics unit, Eagle, in coordination with Cyberabad police, busted a rave party and arrested six people, comprising different walks of life - businessmen, a homemaker, a software engineer, and an engineering student. The raid was conducted at Rajeshwari Nilayam service apartment in Kondapur on the citys outskirts.

The police seized 20 grams of cocaine, 8 ecstasy pills (20 grams), and 3 grams of MDMA. They have confirmed the arrest of two peddlers, a transporter, and three consumers. The mastermind behind the drug ring, Teja, owns a cloud kitchen business. The 28-year-old is accused of sourcing cocaine disguised as skin care injections via courier service in Rajahmundry and distributing them at parties in Hyderabad, farmhouses, and even in Goa. Teja reportedly organized a New Year's party in Goa. The Cyberabad police are currently searching for Rahul, a Bengaluru-based supplier, who is suspected to be the supplier of Teja.

Others arrested in the raid include Vikram, a poultry farm businessman who allegedly peddled drugs, 41-year-old homemaker Neelima, 36-year-old Prashanth Reddy who owned a wine shop, 31-year-old software engineer Bhargav, and 20-year-old Chandan, an engineering student who acted as the transporter. According to police, Neelima had consumed three types of narcotics, and Teja tested positive for five types of narcotics. The other two consumers were also habitual users, and Chandan tested negative.

The raid is a part of an intensified drive to curb the rising menace of rave parties and drug trafficking in Hyderabad. The police department is continuing its manhunt to catch drug supplier Rahul.
