Hyderabad's Twin Celebrations, Enhanced Security for Hindu-Muslim Unity

Twin festivals of HyderabadGanesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabiare being celebrated this week. As the two festivals overlap, police officials are on high alert to ensure that the celebrations are peaceful and smooth. The police have beefed up security and conducted meetings with organizers and peace committee members to ensure the ceremonies go without any issues and that there is no communal tension in the city.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand instructed officers to be on high vigilance throughout the festival period. They are also working with peace committees and procession organizers. Approximately 30,000 policemen will be deployed in the tri-commissionerate area. Usually, the Milad procession is held on the night of September 5, but talks are ongoing to reschedule it to another date, respecting the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

The police are also keeping a tab on social media for any hateful or divisive content that may spark tension during the celebrations. The meetings of the police with the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee and the Milad Juloos Committee are aimed to ensure that both communities, Hindu, and Muslim, celebrate their festivals with harmony and togetherness, proving Hyderabads Tehzeeb (culture) of mutual respect and unity.
