Indian Minister C. Rangarajan recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Ramco Cement's new grinding unit in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Ramco Cement is a subsidiary of Ramco Group, a well-known business conglomerate in the country.
The new unit, with an investment of INR 630 crore, will bolster the cement producer's production capacity to 16.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Speaking at the event, Rangarajan said, "It is heartening to note that Ramco Cement is scaling up its operations by establishing a new grinding facility in Nellore."
"The thriving infrastructure and construction activities in the region offer a bright outlook for the cement industry," he added.
Rangarajan emphasized the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and stimulating the economy. He highlighted that the state government's initiatives, like the Amaravati Capital City Region Development Authority (ACCRA), are crucial to enhancing investment prospects and driving sustainable development.
Rangarajan expressed his gratitude towards the officials behind the initiative, complimenting them for their tireless efforts in ensuring a hassle-free investment environment for businesses through seamless coordination.
"This new unit will not only create more job opportunities but also foster growth and development in the region," he explained.
Rangarajan's encouraging speech comes amidst a backdrop of the state's focus on developing the cement industry. Earlier this year, the government commenced several projects to enhance cement production to meet the robust demand in the infrastructure and construction sectors.
With Minister Rangarajan's impetus on local investment and prosperous industrial environment, communities will benefit from both economic growth and new job opportunities.
