RSS, BJP Working In Nation's Interest, No Quarrel Between Them: Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that although there may be "struggle" when it comes to opinions between the Sangh and BJP, there is no quarrel whatsoever as both work in "national interest."

Speaking at the RSS headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday, Bhagwat added that both organizations also share the same ideals and have the same goal of serving the nation.

"We (RSS and BJP) may have struggle (sic) when it comes to opinions, but there is no quarrel whatsoever. Both are working in national interest, and both have the same ideals and goals," he said.

The statement comes amid some differences between the BJP and RSS on key issues, including the nomination of former BJP leader Sushma Swaraj as an RSS ambassador to the US.

Bhagwat's remarks were also critical of those who promote "bourgeois culture and values" in the name of nationalism.

"Some people are promoting the bourgeois culture and values in the name of nationalism. They are using some of our sacred traditions to divide society into 'them' and 'us,' " he said.

"Nationalism should not be seen as a means to promote one's selfish interests," he added.

The RSS chief called for all citizens to work together to build a united India.

"If we want to build a united, strong, and vibrant India, all of us people from all walks of life and all shades of politics need to work together," he said.

"This is the only way to build a great nation, which is harmonious, inclusive, and prosperous."

Ultimately, Bhagwat's message was one of national unity and cooperation, regardless of political differences.
