As devastating floods continue to grip the state, Director General of Police Dr Jitender has urged citizens to dial 100 in case of emergencies for immediate police assistance.
In a statement, the DGP noted that the intense rainfall has particularly affected districts such as Kamareddy, Medak, Nirmal, and many others, and consequently, the local police forces have been alerted and are currently providing assistance to those in need.
The police department is also working closely with SDRF and NDRF personnel to ensure that public safety is upheld. Helicopters have been deployed to aid in the evacuation of stranded individuals to safer locations.
Dr Jitender urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in rain-affected areas, and assured them that additional police personnel are on alert should a swift response be required.
The statement concluded by stressing the police's commitment to helping communities in distress during this inclement weather.
