Maratha quota agitation: Jarange Patil vows not to leave Mumbai

The activist, Manoj Jarange Patil, continues his protest demanding a 10% reservation for the Maratha community under the OBC category. He vowed not to leave Mumbai until the state government accepts his request.

Yesterday, he swam through the Powai lake, located in the city of Mumbai, for over 3 hours, in protest of the discrimination his community faces in employment and education. This was his second act of protest in recent months after he had fasted for 22 days during the agitation last year.

Patil, a well-known activist for the cause of Maratha quotas, expressed his disappointment in the state government's failure to implement the promises made earlier. He firmly believes that this agitation, though causing losses to the public and himself, will yield results.

The cause has resonated with like-minded individuals who have joined Patil in his most recent protest, swarming Mumbai's lakes and highways.

Despite the protests, the government has yet to respond to the burgeoning issue.

With no resolution in sight, Mumbai residents can only wonder how long it will take for Patil to make his promised jump from the bridge.
