Security drill conducted at Nellore railway station following Pahalgam Attack

In the wake of the horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, security checks have been intensified at railway stations across the country. On Tuesday, the Nellore railway station in Andhra Pradesh was the site of a security drill, which involved dozens of personnel from various agencies. The effort was coordinated by the Railway DSP and aimed to inspect every corner of the facility, including platforms, trains, and the parcel office.

A similar exercise was conducted at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) recently. The Terminus was the site of a full-scale mock drill in which over 100 personnel from numerous security agencies collaborated. The primary objectives of the drills include assessing the effectiveness of air raid warning systems, operationalisation of hotline, radio communication links with IAF, testing functionality of control rooms and shadow rooms, training of civilians including students on civil defence aspects to protect themselves in the event of hostile attack and provision of crash blackout measures.

The exercise served to test the effectiveness of the Terminus's early warning systems and emergency response protocols. Authorities have announced that they will continue to be vigilant and conduct similar drills across the state in the coming days and asked the people to be vigilant and inform the authorities about any suspicious activity or person.
