The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Telangana and Coastal Karnataka, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over these regions.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the police department are on alert, and authorities have advised residents, including those in Hyderabad, to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. People in low-lying areas have been warned to stay alert.

With Ganesh Chaturthi festivities beginning and Hyderabad buzzing with activities, the traffic police and authorities are on their feet to control the crowd flocking to various pandals in the city. Traffic diversions are in place to handle the crowd, especially those heading to see the famous Khairatabad Ganesh. Coastal Andhra has also received an alert to face high-speed winds.
