Amid growing concerns over drug abuse among the youth, Hyderabad Police launched an innovative awareness campaign to sensitize the city's young against the perils of substance abuse. The campaign, launched by Telangana Minister of Fisheries and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav, is designed to engage local youth in the prevention effort.
Speaking at the campaign's launch, Srinivas Yadav emphasized the necessity of incorporating substance abuse prevention in academic curricula. He highlighted the critical role of increased public awareness and access to alternative recreational activities in mitigating the threat of addiction. The minister's words reflected the recent success of Hyderabad Police in making significant arrests related to drug cases.
Hyderabad City North Zone Police conducted the awareness campaign at Begumpet's Classic Gardens, where City Police Commissioner CV Anand addressed the attendees with an extensive prevention strategy. Anand explained that the police would adopt a multifaceted approach to tackle the drugs problem in the city.
They would conduct awareness programs through various platforms and combine them with strict enforcement mechanisms via the H-NEW wing, a pioneering entity in Telangana. The commissioner identified hotspots for active intervention and urged youngsters to spread the message, "Say No to Drugs."
Anand urged youth to avoid the temptation of instant gratification through drug use, saying it would ruin their careers, families, and relationships. The campaign reflects Hyderabad Police's innovative approach to engage local youth in the crucial social initiative. By empowering the city's youth to avoid the dangers of drug abuse, this campaign demonstrates the multiple ways in which public officials are responding to burgeoning drug problems.
