Telangana Renames Anti-Drug Unit, Tasks it with Curbing Narcotics Menace

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the state's Anti Narcotics Bureau (NAB) would henceforth be known as Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), tasked with curbing the menace of narcotics. Reddy highlighted the role of educational institutions in tackling drug abuse and said schools and college managements have a duty to monitor student behavior and warned that cases will be registered against institutions if narcotics are found on their premises. He also directed that child psychology professionals be appointed in schools and colleges to help detect early signs of any behavioral changes among students. Telangana, known for people's struggles, cannot become a hub of narcotics, he added.
