AI to aid voting with blockchain tech in Hyderabad

The Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI) will open an AI community centre in Hyderabad, India, next year in collaboration with Nasscom. The centre will educate locals on AI, covering around 350 students per year in multiple batches, according to Navaneet Mishra, HCCI vice-president and country manager.

Claudio Simao, group chief technology officer of Hexagon AB, said that they are eager to expand their presence in Hyderabad. Simao's comments come as HCCI recently signed an MOU with Nasscom.

Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan announced that 2020 will be celebrated as the 'Year of AI' in the state. The announcement follows the news that HCCI will host a community-focused AI initiative that will be supported by Hexagon.

Among the centre's initiatives is a smart voting system using blockchain technology, allowing voters to cast online votes.
