Nellore witnessed a remarkable Stree Shakti rally, with thousands of women flooding the streets in support of the state government's transformative welfare initiatives. The rally, which began at the Gandhi Bomma Centre and concluded at Pappula Veedhi, witnessed an unprecedented show of strength, with women carrying placards highlighting the super hit status of the six flagship schemes.
Enhanced pensions, Talli Ki Vandhanam cash transfers to mothers, increased Annadata Sukhibhava support for farmers, free annual distribution of three LPG cylinders per household, Stree Shakti free bus travel for women, and large-scale teacher recruitment through the Mega DSC were some of the highlighted schemes. Women leaders praised the Chief Minister for implementing these promises despite financial constraints.
Minister P. Narayana, who participated in the rally with his wife Ponguru Ramadevi, noted that the public trust demonstrated through the rally was a testament to the government's sincerity in implementing these schemes despite inheriting a substantial debt of 10 lakh crore. He also highlighted the revival of projects worth 960 crore for drinking water and underground drainage in Nellore, which were stalled under the previous government, with an additional 165 crore sanctioned.
Ramadevi hailed the Super Six as a super hit, while former municipal chairperson T. Anuradha credited the successful rollout for silencing critics who doubted the availability of funds. The massive turnout of women leaders and participants from across political parties underscored the popular sentiment behind these welfare initiatives.
